Bologna, Italy
Eliwell participates in REFRIGERA 2025, the fourth edition of the trade fair dedicated to industrial, commercial and logistics refrigeration, cryogenics and food freezing, scheduled from 5 to 7 November at Bologna Fiere.
For 45 years, Eliwell has established itself as a leading player in commercial and industrial refrigeration control systems. Founded in 1980 in the heart of the Italian Dolomites, Eliwell has transformed Italian-made innovation into a global success, contributing to the development of the Venetian district of industrial climate control and refrigeration, now recognized as a global hub of excellence.
Refrigera 2025: new developments on display
Eliwell's participation in Refrigera 2025 provides a chance to unveil a range of new key products that will be released over the coming months.
Taking center stage is the Next family of controllers, which has been expanded with the new EWNext 1000 (for manufacturers) and IDNext 1000 series (for installers), designed for the management of high-efficiency refrigerated counters. These solutions meet the most stringent requirements of sustainable refrigeration, thanks to specific functions for managing variable loads and combined temperature and humidity control, while ensuring maximum ease of use, flexibility, and connectivity.
Refrigeration Expert XP, the compact system for monitoring refrigeration systems, debuting in the new release 2.0, will also be among Eliwell’s highlights at the fair. The new version incorporates features such as self-configuration, display management and reusable profiles, streamlining the work of installers and maintenance engineers on the refrigeration systems of small retail businesses. Numerous upgrades have been introduced during 2025: extended connectivity for up to 20 devices, loading of Modbus controller drivers, new PLCs from Eliwell and other vendors, access logs compliant with privacy and cybersecurity regulations, as well as the introduction of the REST open protocol, an IT industry standard feature for integration with other IT systems.
In the sphere of plug-in refrigerated counters, Eliwell will unveil the new Eliwell AIR APP with an intuitive interface that simplifies the download of HACCP data—essential for the foodservice industry—and Bluetooth-supported configuration of cold rooms and refrigerators, benefiting both engineers and users.
A notable novelty is the technological partnership with Bitzer, which has led to the development of BE CO₂, a solution for optimized and integrated control of CO₂ compressor racks, integrating the Eliwell EWCM PRO controller with the Bitzer IQ module. A concrete example of this cooperation is the SICAF INTEGRA rack, equipped with BE CO₂ technology, which can be visited at the Frigosystem stand, with a presentation on 5 November at 2 p.m.
This solution also adopts the new Eliwell ET6 touchscreen graphical interface, available in 7‘ or 10’ panels with a customisable layout to meet every interaction, monitoring and assistance requirement in refrigeration and heat pump plants.
New developments have been also announced in the field of electromechanical components, including:
- new NSD compact pressure switches, PED certified and compatible with A2L and A3 refrigerants;
- the new EWPA family of pressure transducers with Packard connectors
- a full range of PTC, NTC, and Pt1000 temperature probes;
- the new EWHS284 humidity probe: ideal for use with the EWNext 1000 and IDNext 1000 controllers for combined temperature and humidity control;
- the updated range of PXV electronic expansion valves with multi-gas models for HFC/HFO and CO2, also available in a low-noise ‘Silent’ version.
Valuable partnerships and open doors for the refrigeration engineers of the next generation
Eliwell confirms its partnerships with UCFG – Unione del Caldo e del Freddo Green and Legambiente, renewing the company’s commitment to promoting sustainable refrigerants at this year’s Refrigera too, and offering technological solutions capable of optimizing and monitoring their performance. At the fair, the company will attend “Fluidi Refrigeranti Naturali, il futuro è già qui“, an exhibition of innovative applications of natural refrigerants organized by UCFG – presenting a success story featuring the Migros Group and the Eliwell control technology compatible with CO₂ systems.
Eliwell’s booth will also welcome the younger generations: in collaboration with Schneider Electric, Eliwell entered the FRIGORIA pool promoted by the Salesian CFP CNOS-FAP of Sesto San Giovanni (near Milan). The pool brings together the expertise of various companies with the aim of training the next generation of refrigeration professionals. At the fair, Eliwell experts will illustrate to the young people the technologies currently used in modern industrial and commercial refrigeration applications. The project will be launched on November 6th at 12:15 at the Assofrigoristi stand.
With the advent of artificial intelligence, the topics across the table will include the management of refrigeration in data centers: Eliwell will take part in the debate on November 6th, from 10:00 to 12:30, in the Torricelli room, with a presentation at 11 o'clock, at the conference “Data centres: energy efficiency and operational continuity for new IT infrastructures” on the energy efficiency and continuity of IT infrastructures.
Eliwell experts will also be involved in the communication initiatives that Assofrigoristi is organizing for the three-day event in collaboration with its supporting members. On November 7th, at 12:00, at the Assofrigoristi stand, Eliwell will participate in a panel discussion on "Electronics for Refrigeration," focusing on data management and addressing current issues such as open protocols, system interoperability, and cybersecurity.
Don’t miss the chance to visit Hall 30, Booth B12-C13 at REFRIGERA 2025 to see the latest innovations firsthand and continue, together with Eliwell, a journey of innovation that began 45 years ago.
